The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by the President, Roger Fitchett at the Crossroads Inn, South Hill, Virginia.

Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 10 that the March 11, 2007 minutes be approved. This Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.
Motion by Region 10, seconded by Region 3 to approve the treasurer’s report. This Motion PASSED by unanimous voice vote.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 5 to approve the boat raffle report. This Motion PASSED by unanimous voice vote.
There were several suggestions made for the boat raffle.
To auction off the boat rather than sell tickets.
A suggestion of printing five hundred tickets and selling each ticket for one hundred dollars. Each region would get 50 tickets to sell and there would still be a payback to the region.
These and other suggestions will be discussed at the August board meeting.
Tim Mick reported that the National Youth Director, Mark Gintert came to Virginia to introduce the national school program.
There are no youth clubs in region 2, 4, 5 & 7. Hopefully by next year those regions will have established youth clubs.
The JWC Qualifying tournament will be held on the Chickahominy River, June 23, 2007 at River Rest.
Don Lancaster interviewed Steve Gonzalez and Scott Whitmore on his radio station Tidewater fishing report.
The 2008 youth schedule will be done at the November youth board meeting. Most of the tournaments will be moved to the fall so there will not be a conflict with the adult tournaments.
With the growth of the junior program Mike Gunn presented a proposal for the regions and their support. The youth board would set the dates for the tournaments then find two region to support it, possible making it the youth event for their region. With ten regions this would mean each region would have to help with one event every two years. If any region wanted to help more that would be good. Mike said we either get the regions help or the program will not and can not grow.
Tight Lines articles are to be sent to Brenda in micro soft word and each director is allowed one page.
Articles for the fall issue of Tight Lines are due August 3, 2007.
The boat raffle tickets will be available June 25th. If anyone needing tickets before the August board meeting contact Charlie Beale.
This will be the last year for fish stocking of the Chickahominy River by CBVA and DGIF.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 10 to waive the 2007 Fall Classic Championship fee of $750.00 for Region 2. The Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.
In 2010 Virginia will be the host state for the Mid-Atlantic Divisional.
The Virginia Bass Federation won the Lowrance National Award. A trophy and $5,000.00 was presented to Roger Fitchett at the Federation Championship.
Roger wanted to thank Connie and Russ Shetley, Pete Robbins, Tim Mick, Brenda and Charlie Beale and Larry Elliott for a great job on the Lowrance book.
None of the directors were interested in purchasing a Minn Kota trolling motor for a fund raiser for their region.
The Children’s Miracle Network tournament will be held on Buggs Island Lake June 24, 2007.
Motion by Region 9, seconded by Region 3 that the winner of the 2008 Fall Classic be awarded the Castrol Maximum Performance award. This Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.
Russ Shetley suggested next year that the Adam & Eve tournament be extended to the officers in the regions.
Region 6 had seventy seven kids attend their youth day.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
