The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by the President, Roger Fitchett at the Crossroads Inn, South Hill, Virginia.

Roger Fitchett welcomed Rooster Wells and Richard Owen.

A Motion was made by Region 10, seconded by Region 6 to approve the minutes as written. This Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.

A Motion was made by Region 9, seconded by Region 3 to approve the treasurer’s report. This Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.

A Motion was made by Region 9, seconded by Region 3 to approve the boat raffle account. This Motion PASSED with unanimous voice vote.

Mr. Wells passed out the flyers for the open Boy Scouts of America Troop 7454 tournament that will be held March 23, 2007.

The State Youth Director and the Youth Coordinators held a meeting Saturday. All regions with the exception of Region 2 and Region 4 were present.

The schedule was set for the Junior Six Man, the Junior Last Chance tournament and the State JWC Qualifier.

The Junior Six Man tournament will be held April 14, 2007 out of Ed Allen’s Marina for the Chickahominy Lake, Region 6 will be the host.

One of the Junior Last Chance tournaments will be held on Lake Anna and the other one on Claytor Lake May 19, 2007. The ramps will be announced at a later date.

The State JWC Qualifier will be held on the Chickahominy River at the River Rest Marina, June 23, 2007.

The rest of the years schedule will be set at the March youth meeting.

The Junior World Championship will be held August 1-5, 2007 in conjunction with the FLW Championship

The following are the 2006 Youth Awards:

Region of the year – Region 8

Member of the year – Calvin "Catfish: Hunter

Club of the year – Tri City Bassmasters, Region 6 and 5 Rivers Bassmasters, Region 8

Volunteer of the year - Wayne Andrews of Castaway Sporting and Dan Brown of Dan’s Heating & Air Conditioner

Sponsor of the year – Bass Pros Shop

These awards will be given out at Bassarama Saturday January 27, 2007 at 12:00 (noon).

Youth Appreciation hats were distributed to all the Youth Coordinators for their region.

At this time there are 104 kids in the youth program.

Tim Mick wanted to thank everyone for their support.

The Kids Accuracy Skill target will be at Bassarama . The winner from the two age groups will receive a $500.00 saving bonds.

With Josh Wagy winning the JWC in his age group the Virginia Bass Federation received a check for a $1,000.00 from the National Guard.

Roger Fitchett reported that he read a letter from the National Wildlife Federation stating that the state is not following the mercury law that is in place. After reading the letter the Federation signed onto the program.

Charlie Beale asked that when sending your articles for Tight Lines to please put it in Word.

If you are not going to send an article call or send an e-mail stating no article will be submitted.

At the Mid-Atlantic Virginia placed fifth. David Keisel was the Virginia state champion and will go on to fish the Federation Championship.

Roger Fitchett stated that the effort put in by Region 8 for the Fall Classic was far above anything he had seen at any tournament.

Scott Whitmore had a goody bag and prizes for everyone that fished the Fall Classic.

Roger wanted to thank Region 8 for a great job.

At the pairing meeting if anyone is disrupting the meeting they will be ask to refrain from talking. If they do not they will be ask to leave the meeting.

The 2007 Fall Classic will be hosted by Region 3. The tournament will be on the Chickahominy River at James City County Park at Route 5 Bridge. The host motel will be the Ramada Inn 1776.

The 2007 Mr. Bass will be hosted by Region 9. The tournament will be on the Potomac River going out of Leesylvania State Park.

If you fish above the Woodrow Wilson Bridge you will need a DC license and if you are a boater the safety boating course. This course can be taken on the Virginia Bass Federation website under links.

Tim Mick asked that regions not schedule any tournaments on April 14, 2007 and June 23, 2007.

No report on the backup scales.

The state qualifying tournament format report tabled until the January meeting.

The budget report was presented. The report was tabled until the January board meeting.

The contract for the Chapter Team Championship has been sent to the South Hill Chamber of Commerce.

A Region 2 special meeting was held November 12, 2006. At this time Region 2 has four clubs.

Motion by Region 7, seconded by Region 4 to add $5.00 to the entry fee per person to all state qualifying tournaments. This money will be earmarked to help with the expense of the State Team. This motion was tabled until the January board meeting.

If you belong to the Virginia Bass Federation you must belong to FLW.

There were forty-six boats participate in the Children’s Miracle Network Charity Classic held November 5. 2006. A polygraph test was given to the winners. A donation of $950.00 was made to the Children’s Miracle Network.

Fredericksburg will have an Outdoor Show February 9-11, 2007. Region 1 and 9 will sell boat raffle tickets.

There will be an open membership meeting January 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Inn.

The TBF and state roster along with the dues are to be sent to Ann Dalton. Any roster not having FLW numbers will be returned to the club.

The Castrol Max Performance Award will be given to the winner of the Mr. Bass tournament.

A list of ineligible clubs is due at the January board meeting.

A Motion was made by Region 3, seconded by Region 10 to re-elect Roger Fitchett for President and Charlie Beale for Vice President. Motion PASSED on the following vote.

Region 1 – Yes Region 5 – Absent Region 9 - Yes

Region 2 – Yes Region 6 – Yes Region 10 - Yes

Region 3 – Yes Region 7 - Yes V. Pres. - Abstain

Region 4 - Yes Region 8 – Yes

The ticket stubs, money and form are due at the January board meeting.

Russ Shetley said he needed articles and pictures for the Lowrance book.

Scotty Stephenson wished everyone Happy Holidays

Kevin Lankford hoped everyone have a good Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

Bill Haire wished everyone Happy Holidays.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
