The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by the President at the Best Western, South Hill, Virginia.
Roger Fitchett welcomed Tim McCoy, Assistant Region 4 Director.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 7 that the minutes of the July 11, 2004 board meeting be approved. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 6 to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Motion by Region 9, seconded by Region 7 to approve the boat raffle report. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Tad Phipps reported he had finished his study on the lead in the water. See the Tight Lines article done by Tad Phipps on the study of lead in the water.
John Britton reported that the Summerfest held on Claytor Lake was a qualifying tournament for the junior members. This tournament will be held again next year on August 12-14, 2005.
The Youth Classic Championship will be held September 25, 2004 at Hope Spring Marina, Aquia.
The Virginia B.A.S.S. Federation now has nine junior clubs.
Tim Love wanted to thank Steve Woodroof for all his help with the Youth fund raiser tournament held on Smith Mountain Lake. Region 2 and Region 5 made a donation from the tournament to the youth fund for $650.00.
All article for the winter issue of Tight Lines are due November 8, 2004.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 5 to raise the state dues from $15.00 to $20.00 effective December 31, 2004.

Motion passed.
Motion by Region 5, seconded by Region 7 to accept the 2005 schedule of events. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
There were seventy eight boats that participated in the Children’s Miracle Network Charity tournament August 28, 2004 on the Potomac River. A donation of $1,565.00 was made.
All the names submitted for the 2005 Bassmaster Tour event were placed in a hat and drawn out in order listed below. The first three names have a quaranteed entry into the non-boater side of the Tour event. If any one of the top three decline we will go down the list until we fill the slots.
Roger Fitchett said if your name was not drawn for the top three you can call BASS can most likely get your name in but no guarantee.
Roger Fitchett ask that Region 1 and Region 9 provide help for the set up and weigh in for the Children’s Miracle Network Charity Classic tournament October 17, 2004.
Roger Fitchett reported on the Bassmasters Classic meeting.
The federation program offers was tabled until the November board meeting.
Floor was open for nomination for President.
Region 3 nominated Roger Fitchett.
Floor was open for nomination for Vice President.
Region 3 nominated Charlie Beale.
Hawgwild Bassmasters was accepted as a new club in Region 6.
South West Virginia Anglers was accepted as a new club in Region 4.
Backyard Bassmasters was accepted as a new club in Region 2.
Hookem Junior Bassmasters, Foggy Bottom Junior Anglers and Warren County High School Junior Bass Anglers were accepted as new junior clubs.
Motion by Region 3, seconded by Region 7 to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
