Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by the President at the Best Western, South Hill, Virginia.

Roger Fitchett welcomed Kenny Brown, Representative of Region 1, Andy Gall and Roster Gall.

Mr. Gall dropped off the flyers for the open Boy Scouts of America tournament that will be held April 17, 2005 at Buggs Island Lake.

Motion by Region 9, seconded by Region 3 to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2004 board meeting. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Motion by Region 4, seconded by Region 2 to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Motion by Region 2, seconded by Region 6 to approve the boat raffle report. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Tad Phipps reported that the Copepod parasite has moved down stream from Smith Mountain Lake.

Region 6 presented John Britton a check for $120.00 from their Youth Fund raiser tournament.

John Britton will talk to Tim McCoy about the proceed from their Youth Fund raiser at Claytor Lake.

There is a meeting with the Lake Gaston Homeowner Association December 3, 2004 concerning the weed control on Lake Gaston. Roger Fitchett and Tad Phipps will attend this meeting.

Motion by Region 5, seconded by Region 9 that the federation purchase Charlie Beale’s storage shed for $400.00 to store Virginia B.A.S.S. Federation records. This will save the federation $800.00 a year. An agreement clause will be drawn up. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

All articles for the Tight Lines are due February 21, 2005.

There were seventy-nine boats that participated in the Children’s Miracle Network Charity tournament October 3, 2004 at Smith Mountain Lake. A donation of $1,700.00 was made to the Children’s Miracle Network.

At the Children’s Miracle Network Charity Classic tournament held October 17, 2004 there were thirty-one boats that participated. A polygraph test was given to the winners and they past. A donation of $1,080.00 was made to the Children’s Miracle Network.

The board of directors instructed Roger Fitchett to talk to Leesylvania State Park management about the recent rule changes for bass fishing tournaments at Leesylvania State Park. Roger will report to the board on his findings.

David Aliff was presented a plaque as an outgoing Region 8 Director.

At the East Division Championship Virginia placed fourth. Todd Schaaf was our state champion and will be going on to the Bass Federation Championship April 2005.

Motion by Region 9, seconded by Region 5 to reimburse Wesley Scearce motel cost for the Friday night at the East Division Championship of $154.55.

Motion passed.

Roger Fitchett attended an open meeting with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to discuss the possibility of stocking our rivers and lakes. The Pumunkey, James and the Chickahominy Rivers were of the most concern.

Mr. Bruce Lee arranged the meeting with DGIF and has formed a committee consisting of Roger Fitchett, Woo Davies, Mark Wagy, Johnny Loving Chris McCotter and Bill Roberts.

Motion by Region 5, seconded by Region 6 to sign a one year agreement with Shimano. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Motion by Region 4, seconded by Region 9 for the federation to sign another one year contract with Ranger boat company.

Motion passed.

A check for the raffle boat has been mailed to Bill’s Marine.

Tournament rule changes were submitted by Region 9 and was tabled until the January board meeting.

Any By-law changes must be submitted by the January board meeting.

A list of ineligible clubs is due at the January board meeting.

Budget request are due at the January board meeting.

Motion by Region 5, seconded by Region 3 that Roger Fitchett be reelected President and Charlie Beale be reelected Vice President. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Chesterfield Junior Bassmasters was accepted as a new junior club in Region 3.

Charlie Beale wanted to thank all the people that volunteered at the tournaments.

Russ Shetley reported that Region 1 and Region 9 would be conducting the St. Jude tournament.

David Aliff said it has been an honor and pleasure working with everyone and Happy Holidays.

Tim Love reported that Region 5 will host an open tournament April 2, 2005 on Claytor Lake, entry fee $100.00.

Steve Woodroof said that Bass was pleased with the help provided by the Virginia B.A.S.S. Federation for the Smith Mountain Lake open Bass tournament.

Steve Woodroof said NASCAR had contacted him about holding a tournament on Smith Mountain Lake for the Ward Burton Foundation. More information at a later date.

Motion by Region 5, seconded by Region 8 to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30.
