The meeting was called to order at 9:00 A.M. by the President at the Best Western in South Hill, Virginia.

Roger Fitchett welcomed Tim McCoy, Region 4 Assistant Director, Bill Haire the new Region 1 Director and Wayne Hayes the new Region 7 Director.

Motion by S. Wood, seconded by S. Stephenson that the minutes of the November 18, 2001 minutes be approved. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Roger Fitchett recognized Sam Robinson as the out going Region 1 Director and Sid Ryan as the out going Region 7 Director.

Motion by S. Wood, seconded by S. Stephenson to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Motion by S. Stephenson, seconded by S. Wood to approve the raffle account. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

With the consensus of the board the Virginia B.A.S.S. Federation will join the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Alliance. There is no cost to join.

Mitchell Perkins ask that everyone write letters or make phone calls to the Governor and elected officials opposing the budget cut for the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

John Britton announced that the Youth awards will be presented at Bassarama, January 26, 2002 at 4:00 P.M.

Roger Fitchett recognized Joan Blankenship, Tight Lines Editor, for an outstanding job on the Tight Lines.

Articles for the next Tight Lines are due February 1, 2002

Abby Ryan wants everyone to think of a wider span for the Awards Book other than just youth. All articles, pictures and newspaper articles pertaining to any of the categories for the Awards Book are due to Mrs. Ryan by February 15, 2002.

Stuart Wood handed out Mr. Bass packets to the directors.

The contract for the Chapter Team Championships have been mailed.

The Smith Mountain Lake Association has agreed to host the Fall Classic in October.

Roger Fitchett appointed Sid Ryan to the Public Relations position.

Roger Fitchett was elected to represent the Eastern Division. All correspondence to the other East Division Presidents will be done through Mr. Fitchett.

The charity tournament entry fee will be $100.00. First place for the Charity Classic will be $6,000.00. The Charity Classic will be held on Smith Mountain Lake.

An audit of the federation books will be done by Terry Rakes and Tim McCoy.

Interstate Batteries is a new Federation sponsor.

Region 1 has a 6x8 utility trailer for sale. If anyone is interested contact Bill Haire.

Motion by S. Woodroof, seconded by S. Wood to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 P.M.
