Conservation Award Guidelines

In an effort to more involve our clubs in conservation, there will be a new Conservation Award given out at the January Board Meeting in 2004 and every year thereafter. Clubs can send in pictures, scrapbooks, videos, CD ROM’s and any other documentation supporting their conservation efforts. However, clubs are encouraged to send in both visual and written documentation describing their efforts.

  • The State Conservation Award will be given to a deserving chapter that displays exceptional achievement with a willingness to improve our environment through habitat restoration, clean up projects, adopt-a-ramp projects, etc.
  • Projects completed on public lands or waters should be with the permission of VDGIF officials and/or the county or town that owns the property.
  • Selection of the winner(s) will be determined by how much their conservation project(s) will improve or restore habitat.
  • The entries are open to all individuals, clubs (both adult and youth), and regions if the project is a region project.
  • The deadline for entries will be December 1st.
  • Entries should be sent to:

    Tad Phipps
    VA BASS Conservation Director
    124 KOA Rd.
    Wytheville, VA 24382

Ideas for conservation projects will be on the VA B.A.S.S. website, but don’t limit yourself to just these ideas. Have fun, be safe and get out there and improve our waters to insure a good fishing season for all in the future!
