| Ranger boats have always been one of the more popular bass boats in the Virginia Federation and for obvious reasons. Anglers in our state, as well as world-wide, know Ranger has a history of quality and innovation. This year is no exception in the innovation department as Ranger introduced its new 521VX Comanche Bass Boat, which was designed to maximize total performance. |
The new 521VX is rated for a maximum of 250 horsepower and has a 92 ½-inch beam. The overall design includes lower profile contours, high-performance cockpit, and a 12-inch engine setback. This boat was engineered for faster hole shots and top-end acceleration. Ranger quality and a smooth ride are assured due to Ranger’s exclusive pultruded fiberglass transom, fiberglass stringer system and layers of zone-tempered, interwoven fiberglass inside the hull.
Quality
Quality is what Ranger is all about and for the second year in a
row, Ranger received J.D. Power and Associates highest customer satisfaction
ranking among bass boat companies in customer satisfaction. "Customer
satisfaction continues to be the number one goal of every one of our
employees" according to Ranger Boats President, Randy Hopper.
Ranger is continuously emphasizing improvement and high quality. Robert Pearson, who is on Ranger’s national team and a Virginia Region One member, states "Ranger representatives are always interested in hearing feedback and what they can do to improve their product." Rob has been involved with marketing related jobs since graduating from Norfolk State University and travels the state listening to fisherman and providing feedback to Ranger. "Ranger might not always agree with what I have to tell them but they always listen."
Youth Involvement
Rob loves his family and his three kids. He also loves the family
atmosphere at Ranger. In a time when youth involvement in fishing seems to be
diminishing, Rob tries to work with kids – especially inner-city kids. Just
like working "with" kids, Rob states, "I work with Ranger, not for them." Rob
makes sure to point out, "Ranger is all about kids and the future of fishing
and getting kids involved. They listen to what kids have to say and what they
like to do."
Virginia Federation Involvement
In 2001 Ranger Boats initiated a program entitled the Ranger Team
Federation. The Ranger Team Federation program is a two-tiered program that
awards both the Virginia Federation and the purchasers of Ranger Boats.
The program works as follows:
When a member of the Virginia Federation purchases a Ranger boat new from a Ranger dealer and returns his Ranger Team Federation voucher, he receives a free deluxe boat cover and Ranger Team Federation pro tournament shirt. In addition to the to the free cover and free shirt a $200 contribution is made to the Virginia Federation. This money is then used by the federation for fund raising efforts that contribute to both youth and conservation events. Last year the Virginia Federation raised $5,000 in Ranger Team Federation vouchers that they then put towards fundraising efforts. The Ranger Team Federation voucher can be obtained online at www.rangerbonusvoucher.com
In addition, Ranger Boats also host a Ranger Cup program for Federations members and contributes clothing to the Virginia state team. The Virginia Federation is one of the participating federations in the Ranger Cup B.A.S.S. Federations 2003 program. Participating State Federation events serve as qualifying events. In addition to varying payouts and prized for the individual events, the highest finishing registered Ranger Cup participant at the Federation Championship will be awarded a 519VS Ranger boat and RangerTrail trailer.
Headquartered in Flippin, Arkansas Ranger has dealers in almost every state, Canada, Japan and South Africa. This year Ranger is celebrating its 35th Anniversary. To learn more about Ranger, please visit the company’s web site at www.rangerboats.com.
