Every month we read about another tournament won with a Lucky Craft lure. The many jerk baits Lucky Craft offers typically sell out quickly in springtime. As summer approaches, finding the right size sammy in just the right color at your local tackle shop can sometimes prove difficult as well. Lucky Craft has been in business almost five years now and has always focused on high quality, thoroughly tested lures.

It’s not easy finding lures that have a quality paint finish, run true, and hold up to hours of fishing. Lucky Craft lures definitely fill this bill and are distinguished from the rest by their superior craftsmanship. Take a Lucky Craft lure out of the box and it will rarely not run true from the start. Lucky Craft takes great pride in producing what it believes are the highest quality lures available. The company owns and operates its own factory in Japan where all of its lures are produced.

Not only does Lucky Craft have high standards of manufacturing quality control, the company sponsors six pro’s in the United States, five pro’s in Japan, and several regional Pro-Staff who field test Lucky Craft lures for 12-16 months before new designs are released to the general public. Lucky Craft focuses on getting the action of its lures just right. For example, the plastic on the jerk baits is made as thin as possible to achieve just the right action, suspension and noise.

Lucky Craft’s latest offering is a Splash Tail topwater bait and the company’s pro’s are very excited about it. Dealers across the country are just starting to receive them now and the Splash Tail should be another hot lure in Lucky Craft’s lineup. The lure features ball bearings in the prop, allowing the Splash Tail to be worked slowly and giving more time in the strike zone.

Carl Chambers, who is sponsored by Lucky Craft and is a Region 4 Virginia Bass Federation fisherman and Salem Bassmasters club member, has several great things to say about Lucky Craft’s lures. "They have the sharpest hooks in the business and you know their lures are always going to run true right out of the box." Carl states, "they pay a lot of attention to colors and mimic the colors of baitfish in different parts of the country." Carl who concentrates on the B.A.S.S. open tournaments got his start in the Virginia federation and credits Lucky Craft with helping him out immensely when he first got started trying to make it as a Pro as one of the first minorities on the Triton factory team. Carl is very happy Lucky Craft is diversifying it’s product line and stated, "when I’m fishing water that has had lots of pressure, I’ll start throwing their small Moonsault crank baits and they get the job done for me."

Lucky Craft representatives are almost always present at Virginia state-level events and donate several lures to the federation each year as giveaways. Lucky Craft also donates products to more than 300 clubs and fund-raising tournaments every year.

Based in California with an office in Memphis, Tennessee, Lucky Craft continues to increase its visibility in the fishing community and its reputation for high quality products. Lucky Craft has an excellent web site that helps fisherman find local dealers, learn more about the product line and pick up a few fishing tips. And you might say the Lucky Craft website is more literary than most. Here’s an excerpt about jerk baits from the "Did you Know" section:

Seasons change. Out on the water, chill permeates the air the angler breathes. Wing-weary migratory birds fly by.…Fish too feel the seasons and change with them. In late fall, bass linger more and more in deepwater sanctuaries…Like birds rising into the sun of a cold dawn, the bass rise from the depths into the golden light of late afternoon to appease their hunger…instinctively seeking the sun-warmed shallows of eastern shores…Hard plastic jerkbaits, used in the spring, become enticing again to slow-motion hunters … Your jerkbait hangs suspended in place, easily catchable for an instant before it wiggles a few feet away, only to pause in suspense, beckoning to be bit again.
