Established in 1983, Flowmaster has steadily grown from operating in an 800-square foot barn to a 100,000 square foot facility in Santa Rosa, California. Flowmaster currently employs between 300-400 individuals and is the #1 after-market exhaust company in the world. Flowmaster was established in response to overly loud car races. The product has achieved its goal of reducing the noise associated with such races, and has brought many racetracks near cities into compliance with local sound ordinances. Flowmaster provides state federations with two gift certificates that are redeemable for a full exhaust system. The federations sign an agreement with Flowmaster stating that Flowmaster will be their only exhaust system sponsor. In addition to the gift certificates, the federation receives literature and banners. In a normal year the Virginia federation gives out one gift certificate at each of the chapter team tournaments.
