The Always Popular Virginia Fedeation Jackets

Do you own a patch from the state team tournament? How about a cap with the Virginia Federation logo on it? If you do, it was embroidered by Virginia Federation sponsor Mary Lou’s Monogramming.

Mary Lou’s have been embroidering shirts, jackets, hats and just about anything else they can get their needle on for federation members since 1994 and have been a sponsor of the federation since 1998. Mary Lou’s is a family run business and is owned by Mary Lou Raymond and is managed by her two sons; Rick and Robert. Rick and Robert are also active in the federation and fish in the Sandy River Bassmasters in Region 6. Mary Lou’s has 4 full-time employees and according to Rick, “We’re swamped!” Mary Lou’s is centrally located in Virginia and Rick says, “We are 60 miles from Charlottesville, 60 miles form South Boston, 60 miles from Lynchburg and 60 miles from Petersburg.”

As a sponsor of the federation they provide the state with caps, jackets and shirts throughout the year for special events. They also provide the state team patches, Mr. Bass patches and annual chapter team tournament patches (six-man). Mary Lou’s also embroiders most of the region shirts for the fall classic.

Many clubs and individuals contact Mary Lou’s for their embroidery needs. Mary Lou’s can also provide silk screens for T-shirts, print pictures on coffee mugs and create calendars. All you have to do is e-mail a picture to them with instructions. Mary Lou’s has several Bass logo’s to choose from and just about every different lettering typeface. You can also give them a custom design and once the create the embroidery they will then have it in their computer for future use.

Mary Lou’s has a large stock of shirts, caps and jackets to choose from or you can send down your favorite shirt or jacket. Most caps can be embroidered but they prefer to work with the brands they like because they know the final result will look great.

Mary Lou’s specializes in custom embroidery work. Think your boat goes to fast and may catch on fire? Well Mary Lou’s has the answer with flame-retardant thread. They also embroider gore-tex but recommend you treat the thread on a regular basis with dry-tec or a similar product to repel water. They have all kinds of special services, all you have to do is ask. Setup charges are a one-time charge for custom graphics and usually start at $75 or $150 for a large jacket-back graphic. One your custom graphic is done, you will not have to pay this charge again.

Usual turn around on embroidery jobs is one-two weeks. If a custom jacket or shirt has to be ordered then the time is longer.

If Mary Lou’s is not convenient to you, have no fear. They have made a big effort to come up to speed in this ever changing technological world. They are currently working on a better website, you can also e-mail them instructions or a graphic with your custom design. If they don’t have the shirt, jacket, hat or whatever it is you want embroidered, you can easily send them down a shirt via UPS or another carrier. In Virginia UPS deliver time is typically one day!
