David Watts

Dave was raised in the Midwest - Chicago to be precise, and holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. After a stint in private practice in Minnesota, he worked 38 years for the Solicitor's Office (an English legal term, but nonetheless suggestive name for General Counsel's Office) of the Department of the Interior, until he retired this June, 2001. He was a member of the Senior Executive Service, and in his last years served as Special Assistant to the Solicitor, and prior to that for 30 years as the Solicitor for the National Park Service. As for fishing, Dave not only is a bass fisherman, but also spends time fly rod fishing, which he learned at an early age, for smallmouth bass, trout and Atlantic salmon.
